Remembrance No. 1 — You Were Never Going to Feel Ready

You were never going to feel ready.

There is a negotiation that happens between knowing and doing. Most of us live there, in that in between space, waiting for a feeling that was never coming.

Ready is not a feeling. It is a decision.

Your body already knows this. It has always known. The hesitation, the circling, the endless recalibrating, that is not discernment. That is fear with very good manners. It will dress itself up as practicality, as timing, as not yet. It is patient and it is convincing and it will wait as long as you let it.

But underneath all of that noise, something in you already decided. Long before you were ready to admit it.

Remembrance No. 1 — Hydrangeas You Were Never Going to Feel Ready

My hydrangeas did something similar this year. They started the season pale blue and quietly, without announcement, shifted into the deepest pink and purple. No decision visible from the outside. Just the result of one already made from within.

That is how it works.

You are not waiting to be ready. You are negotiating with fear. And the moment you name it for what it is, the negotiation ends.

Decide. Your body will follow.
